Biography of Lady GaGa

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, know known as Lady GaGa, was born on 20 March 1986. She was born in Yonkers, New York, but lived much of her life in Manhattan.
Already at the age of four, Lady GaGa played the piano like a professional. Shortly after she turned the age of fourteen, she started performing at open mike nights at taverns and restaurants in the city of Manhattan.
Throughout her elementary and high-school years, Lady GaGa attended the Convent of Sacred Hearts, an all-girl’s private school. Although she excelled in her studies, her eccentric personality and flamboyant clothing style made her the butt of jokes amongst her classmates. Yet, her high grades were recognized by the board of commissions of the prestigious Tish School of the Arts and she was granted early admission into this university. In fact, Lady GaGa was one of the lucky few people to be accepted into New York University’s Tish School of the Arts. During her post-secondary studies, she developed strong writing skills. However, completely uninterested in her studies and desiring to be a songwriter and vocal performer, Lady GaGa withdrew from university before graduation.
Soon after her withdrawal from university, Lady GaGa moved out of her parents home and frequented Manhattan’s down town east side, doing drugs and performing in burlesque shows at dive bars. Her singing talent and superb ability to engage her audience caught the attention of pop rap-star, Akon. He hastily signed her on to Interscope Records where she worked as a song writer for the Pussycat Dolls. Lady GaGa, only twenty at the time, began her career as a soloist. She set right to work on her first debut single, “Just Dance” which was released in April of 2008. Right after the release of her debut, “Just Dance”, Lady GaGa immediately set to work on her first album, “The Fame.” Her first recorded album was released in August of 2008.
Her first single was featured on radio and became a massive club hit. However, the song did not reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100 singles until January of 2009. In Western Europe, though, the song quickly made its way to the top ten on the singles chart. Lady GaGa’s more recent song, “Poker Face”, was an even greater success. It topped the charts throughout the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, and Western Europe. It was these songs that made Lady GaGa a famous pop star and her fame continues to rise every day.
